1. 2007 Allegation Timing
   Rahul Gandhi was suddenly accused of rape in early 2007, exactly 3 months before 5 crucial state elections including Uttar Pradesh. The timing itself shows a possible political motive. Why did the allegations surface only then, and why were they pushed just before polling?
2. 2011 Case Filing
   The case was filed in mid-2011, again just months before the Uttar Pradesh and four other state Assembly elections in early 2012. It appears that such allegations emerge precisely in politically sensitive periods, designed to damage Rahul Gandhi’s credibility and Congress’s electoral prospects.
3. 2012 Closure
   The case was closed in 2012. Despite BJP’s relentless narrative of “Congress Mukth Bharat” and attempts to portray Rahul Gandhi as unfit for leadership, nothing substantive emerged. If there was any weight in the allegation, why did it collapse so swiftly?
4. BJP in Power, 2014 Onward
   When BJP came to power in 2014 under Narendra Modi on a platform of “good governance” Rahul Gandhi immediately became a prime target. In 2023, his parliamentary membership was suspended following a conviction in a defamation case over the “Modi surname” remark (BBC, March 2023).

If the government could imprison him over a defamation case for a mere speech, do you really believe it would spare him if there had been any truth in a serious criminal allegation like the one in question?

5. Pattern of Targeting Opposition

6. Conclusion
   Narendra Modi and the BJP have repeatedly shown willingness to use state institutions judiciary, tax authorities, investigative agencies to suppress or marginalize dissenting voices. Given this pattern of aggressive targeting from canceling Rahul Gandhi’s membership, imprisoning him over defamation, freezing Congress’s accounts, and leveling charges against other opposition figures do you seriously think Modi would miss the opportunity to weaponize an allegation if there were any factual basis to it? The evidence strongly suggests this was never about justice but about character assassination and electoral advantage.
